Shelley MacDermid Wadsworth is distinguished professor of human development and family studies at Purdue University. She directs the Center for Families and the Military Family Research Institute at Purdue and has spent the last 20 years studying both military and civilian families as they experience stress and transition. Currently, she is coordinating an effort by a large group of scientists to rapidly create and deploy an online community aimed at helping families to cope with the pandemic and build their resilience while they do so. The effort is titled "Families Tackling Tough Times Together."
