The idea is to offer developers sites that are shovel-ready, and the state attributes $850 million in investment to the program.
A third party, firm Quest Site Solutions, certifies the sites, checking them against national siting standards and weighing natural assets in targeted industries. That typically reduces development time, IEDA reported.
Two more Iowa sites are under consideration for the program; the next round starts Jan. 9.
