Des Moines has banned public access to City Hall and other major city buildings through at least April 12 due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

All deadlines have been suspended indefinitely for city permits, licenses, certifications and fines.

City parks remain open. However, the Fourmile and Pioneer-Columbus recreation centers are closed, as are restrooms at Gray’s Lake Park.

All shelter rentals are canceled. The Cownie sports fields are closed. Many events are canceled, including the Mayor’s Annual Ride and Run, which was scheduled for April 18.
