Langston named to lead FuelIowa

He succeeds 25-year organization veteran Dawn Carlson, who will leave in February to focus on her family and her equestrian business, River Heights Ranch.

FuelIowa is an industry group aiding and promoting business in gasoline, diesel, propane, ethanol, biodiesel and other liquid fuels.

Langston is widely known among state lawmakers and other officials. He previously was a leader at the Greater Des Moines Chamber of Commerce Federation, which was replaced by the Greater Des Moines Partnership.

Langston, who is returning to Iowa, also will assume president and CEO responsibilities for HealthAlliance Benefit Plan, a Multiple Employer Welfare Association (MEWA) operated by FUELIowa. He also will serve on the board of directors for RINAlliance, a for-profit company owned by FUELIowa that helps manage their work under the Renewable Fuel Standard.

Langston had been working in the Stevenson Group in Washington, D.C. Over the years, he held a variety of federal appointments under two administrations.
